The NCAA is a body designed to make money from football and basketball. We are fans. We cheer for our college teams.
Since taking office, Trump has attacked trans people. This is an attempt to force trans people out of public life. This is an attempt to pull away their healthcare and basic dignity and rights. It’s not okay. When he signed his anti-trans Executive Orders, the ACLU and other organizations took him to court. Trump’s rampant transphobia is not the law.
Many people discuss “not complying in advance” with Trump’s EOs. Do not give in. Toss sand in gears. Make them go to court. Make them fight us. Make them crawl over glass to get to our trans friends and family.
The NCAA is doing the exact opposite because they really like the football and basketball money and, apparently, not the health of trans students. Vice president of the NCAA’s Eligibility Center, Felicia Martin, spoke at a congressional briefing in Washington on Wednesday. She was there to celebrate National Girls and Women in Sports Day. She decided that would be the perfect opportunity to toss trans women under the bus as she suggested that the NCAA Board of Governors is already discussing changing their policy once the EO goes into effect.
That is the very definition of complying in advance, and this gets two middle fingers in the air for using this particular occasion to attack trans women (and men).
We are about five weeks away from March Madness. Everyone loves March Madness. Even people who never watch a college basketball game will take time off work to check their brackets. Now is a great time to bring pressure on that Board of Governors. Reach out. Let them know that we will not turn our back on trans athletes, and they should not either.

This is not a complete list of the NCAA Board of Governors, because there are some former students and outside folks whoes info we didn’t have the ability to track down. But those folks who work at major universities, those we could find. If you want to see the full list, check out the NCAA website.
